Blurayplay operates Blu-ray Player Guide. This policy explains how Blurayplay handles information when you visit blu-ray-player.com or use the Player Finder. It does not cover the product vendors, retailers, or other websites reached through our links.
Information processed when you use the site
Website requests
The site is delivered through Cloudflare. When your browser requests a page, Cloudflare may process technical information such as your IP address, traffic-routing data, system configuration, requested URL, and information about traffic to and from the site. This processing is necessary to deliver, secure, and operate the website.
Google Analytics
The site does not load Google Analytics 4 or send analytics events to Google unless you select “Allow analytics.” This opt-in rule applies to visitors worldwide. After consent, Google Analytics may receive page location, page title, referring page, language, screen resolution, browser and device information, approximate location, session statistics, and a pseudonymous client identifier stored in a first-party cookie. Google states that Analytics uses IP addresses during collection but does not log or store individual IP addresses in Google Analytics.
After consent, Blurayplay also sends events about Player Finder use, recommendation views, and outbound product links. Depending on the event, the data can include playback target, media type, drive status, priority, recommendation result, page or article, product, offer, button position, and destination URL. Do not enter personal information into the Player Finder or add it to the page URL.
Player Finder URL
The Player Finder places the selected playback setup in the page URL so the result can be refreshed or shared. The current site does not save those choices in a separate database. Your browser, browser history, a person you share the URL with, and services involved in loading the page may still receive the URL.
Email correspondence
If you email Blurayplay, we receive your email address, message, and the technical header information needed to deliver the message. We use that information to respond to your request and maintain an appropriate record of the correspondence.
How this information is used
- Deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the website.
- Understand which pages, tools, and recommendations are useful.
- Measure Player Finder completion and product-link use.
- Maintain and improve content, navigation, and recommendation rules.
Cookies and visitor choices
After you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies including _ga and a property-specific _ga_<container-id> cookie to distinguish visitors and maintain session state. Google lists a default expiration of two years, although browser limits and your settings may shorten that period.
On your first visit, the site offers “Allow analytics” and “Decline.” Your selection is stored only in your browser's local storage under blurayplayer_analytics_consent and remains until you change it or clear site data. This preference is necessary to remember your choice and is not sent to Google before you opt in.
You can reopen “Analytics settings” on any page to change your choice. Declining or withdrawing consent prevents the Google tag from loading on subsequent page loads and stops later analytics events from this site. You can also delete existing cookies in your browser or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. These analytics choices do not prevent Cloudflare from processing the requests needed to deliver and protect the site.
Providers and external websites
- Cloudflare delivers and protects the site. Its handling of end-user traffic is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
- Google provides Google Analytics. Its handling of Analytics data is described in Safeguarding your data and the Google Privacy Policy.
- Product vendors and retailers receive the normal request information generated when you follow an external link. Some links may be affiliate links, as explained in our Affiliate disclosure. Any download, purchase, account, or payment is handled by the destination website under its own terms and privacy policy.
Blurayplay does not operate a separate user-profile or click-history database and does not sell personal information. The current site has no login, user account, public contact form, newsletter, payment form, file upload, or on-site advertising.
Retention
Player Finder choices remain in the URL and may remain in your browser history until you remove them. The site does not retain a separate copy of those choices. Email correspondence may be retained as needed to answer the request, operate the site, and maintain appropriate records; Blurayplay does not publish a fixed retention period for that correspondence. Google Analytics and Cloudflare retain information according to their current settings, agreements, and privacy policies; this site does not publish a fixed retention period for data held by those providers.
Privacy requests
This site does not have an account dashboard or hold account records that you can access or delete. To contact Blurayplay about this policy or information controlled by the site, email [email protected]. Requests about data controlled by Google or Cloudflare should be made through the privacy controls or request channels they provide.
Children
The site is a general-audience information service and is not designed to collect information from children. Do not submit personal information through page URLs or third-party links.
Changes to this policy
Blurayplay may update this policy when the site, its providers, or its data practices change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
